My Daily Hassle Is My English

I have been living in the US for quite 3 years and my english is still a issue. Little by little , I try to keep on track with this different language but is very difficult for me. The worse case for me is when somebody doesn't understand what I 'm trying to say , even though I 'm sure about what I said. I really love to communicate and I 'm not shy at all but sometime, I 'm very discourage. I'm not very self confidence and this kind of problem make me down...I feel like a baby with full jam in my mouth. I can't go further and give me a lot of frustration . Sometimes, I want to give up but it make me sad and I start again for my family. I can look up several times the same word in the dictionary and forget the word ten minutes latter. I get angry and sad again...I try to do my best and sharing every simple things in english in my daily routine and avoid to see french community but their are some days, it's difficult because I feel little bit left behind and alone. But I fight with this sadness and I always plan different nice activities to go further. Usually I have a good willingness and I trust on life. One day I will get it even though it will take more time than usual!!!!!!

first of all let me tell you dear classmate that your english is good enough to be proud of.dont underestimate it no matter how weak you might think it is.if you compare your current english with the one you used to speak when you first came to usa,you will be amazed.you will find out that you ve come a long way.now you can use proper vocabulary, correct grammar...
the only reason behind your stres is your attempt to find extraordinary words and fail to do so,whereas a clear proper language is all one needs to comuncate with others.remember that "simplicity is beauty".
as for the problem you mentioned about how fast you forget the meaning of the words you look up ,i would suggest to ways that helped me overcome such a problem.
first, evrytime you look up a word in the dictionary put a mark next to itand another one on top of the page.thus whenever you go back to the same page,go through all the words that you alredy marked.this way you will be able to review your vocabulary constantly.
second:always remember "if you dont use it you loose it".dont just keep learning words (passive vocabulary).you should rather use it as an(active vocabulary) by writting talking...etc
finnaly let me remind you that you are doing good.just keep working and never give up.

Marine,
Vocabulary is one of those things that causes all second language learners problems. You might never get rid of your dictionary, but think of how much you know now compared to before.
